Many Lenses on Literacy

“If you can read this, thank a teacher.”
– anonymous

Creating literate citizens is, without doubt, one of our most important responsibilities.
This responsibility took on many faces this week…

It began on Monday with our annual
AUTHORS DAY

Brian Pinkney shared his experiences as
an illustrator and author (and musician)!

This is Lisa Graff.  She told us how she was inspired
to become a fantastic author of realistic fiction.

Peter Lourie is an adventurer who urged
us to get out and see the world!

This week we were also treated to a Book Fair.
Sponsored by our PTA, students were able to get
two books for the price of one!

Assessment is also an important part of what we must do.
The ELAs were rather long this year,
but our kids were up to the challenge!
