Our fifth grade REACH students worked with their teacher, Mrs. Olinto, to tap a Sugar Maple for the first time in known SIS history! They first became experts in identifying Sugar Maples and scoured our grounds for specimens. They could not believe that only one could be found.
They next researched the process for tapping the sap and making the syrup. Their efforts culminated in a most amazing tasting, complete with homemade pancakes, to which I was invited.
How embarrassing… But it really was THAT good!!!
